User Notes:

The cross of two moving averages is widely used by itself or in combination with other indicators as signaling the start of a trend or breakout up or down.

The indicator saves a user from having to check for Moving Avg. crosses on up to 160 charts by displaying this information in a subwindow on one chart.  Time frame columns for each selected currency pair are displayed in a subwindow below the main chart.  This allows the user to know at a glance on which currency pairs and time frames the specified Moving Averages are crossing.

A cross up of the Fast Moving Avg Above the Slow Moving Avg. is represented with a green Up arrow.

A cross down of the Fast Moving Avg Below the Slow Moving Avg. is represented with a red Down arrow.

The time frames scanned include M1, M5, M15, M30, H1, H4, D1, W1.   ‘M’ stands for minute, ‘H’ is Hour, ‘D’ is Day, and ‘W’ is Week.

How often the charts are scanned is controllable down to the millisecond.

If you haven’t already figured it out, the simple moving average is not an indicator you can use as a standalone trigger.  Now, that doesn’t mean that the indicator can’t be a great tool for monitoring the direction of a trend or helping you determine when the market is getting tired after an impulsive move.  Think if the SMA as a very basic compass.  If you want detailed coordinates you will need other tools, but you at least have an idea of where you are headed.

Hi Jeremy, I believe you are correct. However there are many more skilled than I at using moving averages. Perhaps one could look for confirmation on multiple time frames or as you say use it in combination with another indicator or indicators. Possibly one could use it only as an exit signal when already in a position. Personally I like to use the moving average slope from a higher time frame as a filter. For example, When a higher timeframe moving average is sloping up. I only take long trades

Please I am interested in your Moving Averages Cross Finder.

Can I select my own Moving Averages or it is prefixed?

    And how much is it?

      Hi Charles,

On the Moving Averages Cross Finder you can select the characteristics of both the Fast and the Slow Moving averages.
Meaning you can select the period of each.
(the period is the number of bars, or candles, the moving average uses to calculate their average).

You can also select the type(s) of either the Fast Moving average, the Slow Moving average, or both.

The possible Moving Average types are:
      – Simple Moving average
      – Exponential Moving average
      – Smoothed Moving average
      – and Linear Weighted Moving average.

    Hi Hicham,

Yes, there are notifications that you can configure to go to your mobile phone.

A notification gives a currency pair, and the time frame of the chart that a Moving Average Cross has happened on.

    Hi Bruce,

    Thank you for the feedback.

Are you using the Safari browser?
If so, try switching to landscape mode.

Alternatively, or if the above does not work, try using the Chrome browser instead of Safari.
